Introducing, the Volkswagen Atlas Basecamp.

Our work Volkswagen isn’t new, we’ve worked with Volkswagen of America on projects like, Tanner Foust’s crazy Volkswagen Passat Drift Taxi, and a Volkswagen GLI Super Touring Concept build -- Even within our own office, you’ll see a Tiguan and even the iconic VW Beetle sitting in our parking lot. However, this programs around the Volkswagen Atlas Basecamp Concept was chalked full of firsts for us and it’s definitely one for our history books.

Overlanding, off-road ready and soft-roader vehicles are something we here at Fifteen52 not only have fallen in love with, but the call for more of these kinds of vehicles grows more and more every day. Volkswagen of America is answering that call with their all new Basecamp Concept inspired accessory line which includes Basecamp™ styling components manufactured by Air Design® as well as the 17"x8" Traverse MX wheel. We are so incredibly excited to be a part of it. When asked about the components, Hein Schafer, Senior Vice President of Product Marketing and Strategy at Volkswagen of America had this to say: “Our goal is to provide customers with an extensive catalogue of accessory options that cater to their desires for distinctive styling and functionality,”

He wasn’t kidding when he said that. The amount of standard accessories you can add to your Volkswagen Atlas is staggering. While we may be somewhat biased here (for obvious reasons), the 17” Traverse MX wheels is truly our favorite part of the Volkswagen Atlas Basecamp - because let’s be honest, wheels can make or break a vehicle.

Let’s talk about the first thing you see when you take a look at the Traverse MX wheels now available through Volkswagen Dealers in the USA - Color. Offered in two color options, the first being an exclusive color to Volkswagen, Radiant Silver and the other being our Frosted Graphite color. Both colors work well with any OEM Atlas color and while Frosted Graphite is always a go-to, the Radiant Silver closely resembles the body kit manufactured by Air Design, but we’ll get into that later. Coming in at 17x8.0”, this 10-spoke wheel design gives the 2021 Atlas with Basecamp styling components a more rugged, off-road look. The recess in the outer ring helps protect your valve stem when you inevitably take your vehicle off the concrete road for a little nature exploration. Another nice thing? You can reuse your factory wheel bolts and wheel bot covers. Remember how we said this was chalked full of firsts? Well, our Traverse MX wheel is currently the only supplier-branded wheel, you can actually drive down to your local dealership, order by part number and install them right there. Don't want to pick up in person? No problem, you can order both Radiant Silver and Frosted Graphite right off the official Volkswagen Parts website and have them shipped directly from a dealership.

The Traverse MX wheels are an awesome add on to the Basecamp styling package. Our wheel design is right at home with the painted two-tone satin silver and textured anthracite front bumper guard, textured anthracite fender flares with an integrated splash guard, satin silver side door rocker panels, and matching rear valance with trailer hitch access. When you purchase the whole kit, It also includes exclusive front quarter panel mounted Basecamp badges that you cannot get anywhere else.

There, it's out. We've been itching to announce this exciting news for awhile now and we finally can.
